Working from home had some great advantages. I had an upstairs office and a downstairs lunch spot – the kitchen or the garden. The separation from the computer for a short while to eat and relax injected an extra dimension to my day, which I loved, and which benefited my afternoon’s work – I concentrated better and was more energetic.
Back in the office, we are slipping into old habits – lunch in front of the computer being one… This week we addressed the issue: we decided that we are going to do something with lunch once a week – next Wednesday we are discussing our new Health and Safety policy in a Lunch and Learn session. This is going to be a weekly feature for us.
On Tuesday we took our chairs outside and enjoyed the sun and a bit of people watching in our lovely seaside town. It was good fun and it made me wonder about whether we were forgetting what we’d learned…
So, we are working on good lunchtime habits. Do you have any ideas to share?
