Every year World Food Day is observed on October 16 and is celebrated to raise awareness on the issue of hunger and healthy food habits for all.

It marks the founding day of the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO). World Food Day is celebrated by organisations like the World Food Programme and the International Fund for Agriculture Development. But this year the day will jointly be led by organisations like FAO, UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, and the World Food Programme (WFP). According to the United Nations, this year's events will take place in around 150 countries across the world with multiple partners and government involvement.

Here at JSD we wanted to keep our efforts local and support our food bank.

The Wirral Food Bank website helped us to keep our effort relevant with a handy Harvest List. Check it out here:  https://wirral.foodbank.org.uk/
